Becoming a Seguin Island Light Station Keeper requires a great deal of experience and preparation. The position is both physically and mentally demanding, yet forever rewarding and possible life changing. Each year we accept applications for the following years volunteer keepers. - We must remind you that there must be two applicants that have know each other for many years. You must be willing to engage the public, as we have about 3,000 visitors to the island each summer/fall season. The job requires a commitment from Memorial Day in May until Labor Day in September. Your application for the 2013 season must be received before October 1st, 2012. We must also remind you that if you are not picked, you may re-apply with the same information for a future year’s service. Take your time and read through the detailed information sheet and then decide if this opportunity is right for you.
